Filofax Fluoro Pink Original vs. Filofax Rose Baroque

Hi everyone!

I decided to write a post to compare these two Filofax'es.  I did a similar comparison of the Baroque and Malden a while back and thought these were also similar enough to compare.

Here goes ...

As you can see they have a similar profile.  They're quite sleek and slim. There isn't any cardboard padding on either of them which makes them streamlined but unstructured at the same time.

The leather on both is soft with the Original's leather being more stiff (not in a bad way) and the Baroque's being floppier and softer.

Both lay flat!  The Original lay flat straight out of the box although I know not all do.  I also love that the Original's strap is flat as a bat and doesn't get in the way of writing (one of my peeves about the Maldens). They also both have notepad slots at the back, although the design is different.

By the way, the Original's strap is 10 cm while the Baroque has 11.5 cm straps.

Another flat as a bat photo  (:

Here are more side-by-sides. They're almost exactly the same size

The Original

Here's showing The Original with the exact same contents.  As you can see, they're very similar.

As you can see, they're both very slim, with not a lot of room to spare all around.  This makes the tabs almost hit the edge, and it's harder to carry more than one pen in them and still get them to close.  (I know some Baroque owners don't like this about them.)

I love them both, but the Original is giving the Baroque a run for its money I think because of that great leather!  The one thing with the Fluoro Pink is that it picks up dirt easily, particularly around the spine where the rings are.  I've already given it a thorough cleaning with Leather Cleaner/Conditioner and that has seemed to help.

Did I miss anything?  Let me know if there was something else you wanted to see.

Thanks for visiting!

  1. The Baroque is simply so beautiful. Sadly I never managed to get one in personal size. You should definitely hang on to yours as long as possible.

    1. Hi frostywindow! You're right, it would be hard to let go of the Baroques, both for its beauty and rarity. I'm glad I haven't had to make that choice yet. Hope you find your own soon. Thanks for stopping by!
